Update 5.0 (Vinyl)

Me and Katie were talking over Facebook, and were toying with the idea of having a Vinyl aswell as our digipack for our album, we have seen from our research that many Alternative Rock bands have an alternative style vinyl, which is usually a limited edition version of what they produce.

As you can see from my research, Enter Shikari have a vinyl cover (which is sold out) of their 'Flash Flood of Colour' album, as do Muse of their 'The Resistance' album. The general conventions of a vinyl cover are they are alternative versions of the original CD covers, whether that be a different color scheme, or the same idea portrayed differently. Some bands such as Muse have numerous version of Vinyls and are all limited editions. With a vinyl we can also show in our project we are going further than required, and we can also show that we are putting our research to good use.

It's also good to note that Vinyls are coming back into fashion, but rather people listening to them, people tend to collect them or have them from their favourite band (I am guilty of this, I bought a Linkin Park Minutes to Midnight Vinyl in America for $10, I only bought it because it was Linkin Park), so Retro technology is in fashion and it sells well (and sells out very quickly). I wonder if cassettes ever come back.
